Let’s Talk Herd is up and running, and already attracting fascinating guests…

Let’s Talk Herd, the Soul Herd podcast started this month. Being in the presence of such like minded guests has been very inspiring, despite the occasional technical challenge! It truly feels like a quantum leap in terms of authentically connecting with kindred spirits. And the potential of collaboration seems so much greater now. Meeting face to face and talking with a real person is so much more natural and multi-dimensional.

I have been pleasantly surprised at how easy it has been to engage with each guest. It has been like meeting old friends and clicking in to our favourite subjects. So many parallels are surfacing in these podcasts. Fundamental truths that we are realising and discovering in our individual journeys with horses. Going within for answers and following our inner guidance. And the horses show us how to do that just by being themselves.

As an Animal Healer and Communicator and more recently as a Trust Technique Practitioner I work with horses and many other animals . I loved the ponies that we had on our family farm growing up dearly. I enjoyed riding them but what I enjoyed most was just spending time with them and being around them. As an adult I have no strong wish to ride horses but the desire to be around them has never left me.

The work I do now with my Herd, is a result of my own personal unfolding. My spirituality and Horse are the same thing. In what I write here, please understand there is no judgment intended. It is an illustration of one person’s understanding of their evolution with horses. As soon as I had the consciousness to know what horses were, I yearned for them. It was as if I already knew what they would smell like, how they would feel, how it would be to be carried on their backs. My heart beat was the sound of hooves; in the wind I felt the whip of mane across my face.

Soul Herd is Expanding!

Soul Herd is only a month old and there has already been a fascinating process to share. Coherence in the human collective is a message brought to us by the horse collective. It is a message which reflects the more practical element of seeking contributors and members to join our vision. I have come to enjoy the vibrational changes as much as their physical manifestations, yet I had no idea starting out quite how powerful this project could be energetically.

It does make sense, to ask for so many highly sentient energies to come together and interweave. To create something together. So it is so much more than presenting a collection of articles, even though in themselves they are wonderful and full of new and exciting ideas. On a vibrational level, asking for those energies to align and find a mutual equilibrium is initiating a much deeper shift for us all.

The spirituality of our horsemanship is redefined every day when we enter the presence of a horse

Spiritual horsemanship means a lot of different things to different people. For me it is the miracle of being aware, the practice of becoming receptive to this moment now. When you start exploring sentience in that way, a world opens up that is so nourishing. It is so familiar in a going-back-home way, that you just want to stay there. My journey with spirituality has been so beautiful, so challenging, and so perfect. I see that same journey happening all around me in everyone else. Not only for those who are aware of what is going on, but everyone. It truly is a miracle we are all experiencing, and those blessed with horses in their lives have attracted some deeply influential guides to go with them.

Being an Open Platform is a vibrational expression of oneself, easily perceived by the horses

The Open Platform is the feeling between us when the horses invite me to be carried by them. In fact it is the sense of invitation in every way. Into their space, to hug them, groom them, care for them and just be with them. That sense of solidity, of trust, of openness. The way the energy radiates outward and embraces us. It is fun to find names for the new stages of our process as a herd. It also feels good to let those names be light and changeable, to come and go as we continue to grow.

A Journey To Trust

Communication and connection with our horses through understanding feelings and taking a leap of faith in ourselves

In spring of 2018 a young lady stood next to me in a field as we looked at my herd of five, listening to me rambling away about all the things I thought needed sorting out with them, and when I shut up she asked me a question. That young lady is now the editor of this magazine. I had asked her for some help as I had become completely lost regarding my horses and often wondered why I had them.

The question was this: How do you feel?

That question has stayed with me now through a journey of finding out who I am, who each of the herd members are, and discovering all the wonderful reasons why we are together. I start every day with that question. Why? Because how I feel affects everything around me.

Before I can talk to the horses I need to acknowledge my own feelings about the day, understand they are my feelings and then let them whisper away as I walk around to say good morning, completely in the present moment, without a thought in my mind.

Welcome to the first Soul Herd editorial!

Not long ago I set out to find a suitable publication for the blog I have been writing. Suitable meaning that going into the spirituality of horsemanship is welcome. My blog is about the journey I have been on with my herd of horses for some years. A similar journey to the one that many friends and kindred spirits with horses in their lives are on. It is a process of awakening to the horses’ voice, of discovering both how to hear them and how to respond.
